Byron Pinckert, AIA, Founder

HPA Architects

Byron knew he wanted to be an architect when he was 7 years old and his family engaged an architect to design a new home in Southern California. Byron got his first degree with Cum Laude honors from the USC School of Architecture in 1972. Byron then struck off for the East Coast and attended the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, receiving a Master’s Degree in Architecture in 1975.  After working in a number of Southern California architecture firms, Byron met Dennis Hill when they were working at the same firm in Newport Beach. They discovered they had an uncanny ability to disregard each other’s points of view without offending one another.  That was parlayed into the opening of their own firm, Hill Pinckert Architects, in 1980.
